Dates

June 30 to July 4, 2025

The Program

With Linnea Fitterer

As performers/artists/creatives, how do you connect your work to society? How can others participate with what you create and make it a more meaningful experience for everyone involved? In this workshop, students will be exposed to a comprehensive history of practices that examine the connectivity of Performing Arts and Social Practice Art. Social Practice Art is a medium that focuses on engagement through human interaction and values the process of a work over the finished product. Utilizing principles of movements such as Dadaism, Surrealism, Happenings, and Fluxus, this workshop combines approaches in Performing Arts and Fine Arts learning to achieve social engagement.

Experience level; Intermediate

Students should be comfortable with and have a foundational understanding of Performing Arts in order to expand their viewpoints through this workshop.
